Bed Sheet Bliss
There is so much air between bed sheets.
So much space that sits
And absorbs your heat, so while you sleep,
You feel soft, complete,
Body-wise bliss.
You wonder how you get by without it;
How on earth you ever abandon
Its embrace when in the morn’ you awake;
That is, until the time when you actually need
To set your feet on the cold, heatless floor.
Then, you realize you only ignore its warmth
And its beckoning heat
Because you believe it’ll still be there
When you leave.
