chess
Our world is like a chess board in many ways
The people play this game all nights, all days
This mean and cruel war never ends, unless
The players learn of justice and selflessness
The pawns are often placed in the front row
With each turn, one step forward they can go
They’re usually the first ones to be sacrificed
For the pointless victory, the pointless prize
Pawns, however, are capable of much more
They can be like a bishop, and diagonally go
They can be anything, but it’s sad and cruel
That all their abilities are prohibited by a rule
The pawns are the poor and the disadvantage
The innocent people who are forced in a cage
To be the labors of people so selfish and cruel
To think that people are slaves for them to rule
