Cursed

I was cursed with love,
But not the way you think.
I heeded the devil's words,
I got too close to the brink.
I allowed myself to be
swept over the edge,
Carried and enchanted.
I didn't realize then,
my wish had not been granted.
I was a fool,
young and brave.
I wanted to be loved,
I was my own slave.
Desire held me tighter,
than any mortal bond.
I was cursed,
I had been conned.
