Gone Running
Not a walk
On a hot summer's day
Not a walk,
With strides paced
As not to faint
Hot air inhaled,
Choking stale lungs

Not a walk,
With so much time
To contemplate the world,
To sit back and observe
The problems abroad
This path that I walk

I'd rather set my spirit free
To unwind
To run wild and leave
The world and it's problems behind
Run, let nothing bring me down

Gone Running
On a hot summer's day
Hot air turns to cool wind
Brushing through my hair
As fast
As the paces and strides are lost
In my mind
The trees and the sky spin above
The world whirls by, yet it is mine
Along with the freedom that I feel inside
