Sun Poem
The sun finally rose today,
It really has been too long.
Throughout the sadness I have battled today.
I have helped myself stay strong.
When I gaze at the light,
And I feel the hot burn,
The sweat rolls down my cheek,
With the sunlight’s return.
When I take a deep breath
And I don’t smell the dread,
But relaxation,
Of the joy in its stead.
I feel the relief of the sun today,
I recall the past.
And as I recollect the sadness,
I hope the sun will last.
