Beneath the Surface
On the surface
you see
happy children
birds singing
dogs wagging their tails
and all the world seems simple.
But why are the children so cheerful?
Mybe it's a facade
covering up the hurt of parents divorced
Why do the birds sing?
Maybe they are calling someone near and dear
and lost
Why do dogs wag their tails?
Maybe they want something -
need something
Look deeper
Dig deeper
down past the surface
to really understand.
