My Ode to You
Longing for you as you were once my best friend
We went through the motions together
shared our thoughts and feelings
Had each other’s back when life got the worst of us
For me, you always had seeds of faith
Words of motivation you always said to me
You were my asylum when I am faced with life’s ugly side
The fanatic that I had whenever I took on life’s endeavors
But I only realized your worth when you left
Broken I was as I could never fill that empty void
You took a piece of my heart and I am left undone
Take that part of me and return it someday
