Father No More
You left,
I questioned why?
They all say that
You were a heartless guy.
Was I not what you wanted?
Did I not make you happy?
Oh dear! Oh my!
This sounds a little too sappy.
I never knew that you were that important,
But life without you is just so confusing.
I don’t know anything about you.
This is like a battle that I keep losing.
Where were you from?
What color is your hair?
Do you have those eyes
That makes people want to stare?
Are you short or tall?
Are you fat or thin?
Did you play sports?
Were you a star back then?
I know nothing of you,
Not even your name.
What made you leave?
What’s to blame?
You’ll never see me succeed.
You’ll never see me fail.
You’ll never get to see
My smiling face through the veil.
You won’t be there
When I have my first date.
Maybe you left
Because of fate.
To me, you are
No longer a father.
So if you want to come back,
Don’t even bother!
