Ghazal of Oz
I was once told that dreamers will always stand alone.
But I found a flaw in that overcasting certainty, your delusional reality.
You seized my hand and led me down that scrawled, golden path.
We danced among the downed apple trees and slumbered, that delusional reality.
Creatures flew overhead and soared, sweeping us into their wicked grasp.
You battled as my refuge and tightly gripped my ruby heart, in our delusional reality.
You were attacked and assailed, evaporating from our wonderland.
Though you were not the witch obliterating my haven, my delusional reality.
Darkened skies were painted with purples and golds,
As we soared entwined, forever in our delusional reality.
