Moments fleeting, memories cheating, time flies by,
As I reach for tomorrow as she sways, like dusted feathers in sad sung breeze
And hear the rattling of the trees, humming: please, please… as they whisk away
The passing of time

Moments fleeting, memories cheating, time flies by,
As the pressure settles deep and heavy on my chest, like crisp white snow
And my body wearily woes: row, row… as I race down the river towards
The passing of time

Moments fleeting, memories cheating, time flies by,
As burdens are shed, like the sunlight warming winters white wounds
And the silence of the persistent lull tunes: soon, soon… as the feeble light consumes
The passing of time

Moments fleeting, memories cheating, time flies by,
As colors warm from reds to blues, like heated nights that invite the suns pink seep
And bear the sweltering heat, chanting: sleep, sleep… as each damp droplet counts
The passing of time

I wrote this poem to sum up the phases of my senior year in high school.
