Aurora's Secret
Years ago the Aurora used to stand
Warning all sailors from every land
Standing firmly majestic and grand
The disaster that struck her was sadly unplanned
Fifty years ago the was built on the coast
Gleaming in the sunlight and admired by most
Her beaming light cut through the darkness
And for several years she stood for peace and kindness
Her only flaw was not at all her fault
And it wasn’t her base rimmed with sea salt
A violent gang was stationed there
Murdering the innocent without a care
Inside her they had an illegal stash
And they were ready to abandon her in a flash
Then one day their hiding place was revealed
Their hidden secret was no longer concealed
That night the authorities set the Aurora alight
The blazing inferno lit up the night
But alas the Aurora still held one dark secret
Her hollow walls to today still had kept it
Even though the gang had escaped just in time
They had already committed a crime
That same night a young girl was hung
Death had come to her when she was too young
Today in her ruins you can still hear how she cried
And she’s been seeking revenge since the day that she died
Now the Aurora stands alone by the sea
Trapping her prisoner never meant to flee
Years ago the Aurora used to stand
Warning all sailors from every land
Standing firmly majestic and grand
But now she’s deserted and alone in the sand.
