The Kid From Yesterday
This could be the last of all the rides we take.
Let’s go out with a bang.
Hold on tight. There's no looking back, never.
Why should we listen to their rules? Why acknowledge their messages?
You only live forever in the lights you make.
As children, we always said
That you can only understand when your heart begins to break
But now we're the kids from yesterday.
Everything on TV has blood and celebrities. So sad.
But who cares? They only care about us when we die anyway.
Do the pills help you watch it? Do they keep reality at bay?
Do they rock you to sleep like mommy used to?
Because the only way to live forever is to make your own lights
Remember what we said?
You can only get it when your heart begins to break.
Can you hear mine crack?
We are the kids from yesterday.
Now. That's what we are. Right now.
Kids from yesterday.
Today.
But we're here now and we won't stop. Never.
Let's yell it out. "WE WON'T STOP!"
Not until we die anyway
Cause we are kids. The ones from yesterday.
Can you live forever? Can you make your own lights?
Remember that saying.
You can only hear when your heart begins to break.
And my heart aches.
Are you a kid from yesterday? Are you?
Can you answer me truthfully? Or are you going to be my killing blade?
Was it only yesterday?
Because I'm a kid from yesterday.
And now it's today. Could it have only been yesterday? No.
But we are still the kids from yesterday.
And we have to live with today.
Today is what we live with.
Do you?
