Why should I change to please people? They tell you to be yourself, and then they judge you for you. It's like standing with your clothes on. They like you when you're covered up, but when you show the real you, you're naked. They don't like it

The sweet breeze, the cool air,

Oh! How I wish I was there.

The colorful flowers sprinkled all around,

The place I am not found.

The wind sings to me, drawling the memories of that wonderful place from my
mind.

Their voices taunt me, saying, "You'll never return!"

How despair creeps up on me, hitting me like a rushing storm of rain.

What have I to gain from all this unwanted pain?

I embrace the darkness, conferming my fall.

How could I have lost it all?

My boat is sinking, my fire dimming

My bridges are burning, my heart breaking, the tears falling.

But I will hold on, for someday, I'll return,
To that wonderful place I call home.
With the clear blue skies, the mountains in the west and the coast in the
east.

And they'll say, "Welcome!"

But, for now, I pray for endurance, I pray for a miracle.

I wish to break this cycle.

One day, I'll run home.
One day, I'll make it back to that small town,
Where I first belonged.

So don't say you're sorry! You know who you are,
Know that I won't be far.
Back to that "Tar
Heel State", I love so much.

My chest is empty,
For my heart is not here.
I've left it with you,
The dear teal blue.
