Today
They say roses are red,
And violets are blue,
But what does that mean,
To me and you?
History's burning,
Just ashes to ground,
Brothers are murdered,
Children lost, but not found.
Our time now is bleak,
Colors faded to gray,
They say hopes in the future,
But we need it today.
In this world without peace,
Our children can't live,
They can't learn to laugh,
Ever love or forgive.
It will take a strong people,
To stand up for tommorow,
But we have to make changes,
If we must beg, steal, or borrow.
