No one can feel you feel inferior without your consent. -Eleanor Roosevelt

A love as strong as war,
A peace as still as the sea.
Old habits die hard,
So why can’t you let them be?

Our kisses have become as roses
They have withered, wrinkled, and died.
The secrets we kept form each other
Are the secrets we can no longer hide.

Your cologne now makes me weary
Your presence weighs me down.
Your hatred has now humbled me
Your ego trampled me to the ground.

A love as strong as war
A peace as still as the sea.
Old habits die hard,
So why can’t you let them be?

I let go of my old habits
You can no longer consume my mind
Deleting you from my memory
Has taken a hard and long lifetime.

A love as strong as war,
A peace as still as the sea.
Old habits die hard,
So why can’t you let them be?????????????

I often find myself going back to relationships that are toxic and mean no good. This poem is more of a self portrait of me as a person.
