The Refurbished Book
Coffee stained pages and crumpled corners
I flip to another stale chapter
Do not judge by the dusted cover
For it's been neglected
But never forgotten
Oh, my ignorant eyes have been turned for too long
Ever focused on reality
Escaping creativity
But now I face receptivity
Eyes scanning tainted by tainted page
Immersed in another dimension
Drifting back to an earlier age
Lodged in innocence, not perfection
And now my parched imagination
Will be doused in exploration
And while these words serve inspiration
I relinquish exaltation
