I remember how we used to be
I remember how we used to be
So happy and so care free
Until the day those planes came
And put us all through a lot of pain
And when the men went off to war
We prayed for there to be no more
But to this day they're still fighting
To save this country from hurting
All we could think of is, "Why us?"
And why did it have to hurt so much?
We all came together when that day happened
Waiting for the day when they would find him
I remember how it used to be
So happy and so care free
But now we have to watch our backs
For we never know what might hatch
