Abandoned
I stand in the middle of rolling pastures.
Lost.
Confused.
The green grass sways around me,
it is a reasduring carpet of earth,
and is now cutting me with swords.
A loving mother once innocent
is now blamed for all pain
the crying I have suffered;
the hurt I have endured;
the endless days;
comforting the naive sheep,
directing them in the right path of life,
and being there when she is nowhere to be found.
It is my duty to replant the grass so that the sheep
may have a soothing carpet to stand on.
The wailing winds whisper "I love you",
in a voice that lifts me up when I am depressed.
Wailing winds become fierce while starting a hurricane in my life
and fleeing from the hurt.
A trustful mother once innocent
is now blamed for all pain
the home I have lost;
the love I have forgotten;
the countless days;
of quiet bickering,
alone in the dark,
and not knowing what tomorrow will store.
The sheep are trailing away from my voice
they will not listen.
I want to turn my back
just like the green grass and the wailing wind
but I have to be the one to keep whispering "I love you",
the one to be a soothing carpet.
I stand in the middle of rolling pastures.
Lost.
Confused.
I am now obligated to accept the challenge of being a shepherd
for theses abandoned sheep.
