I Am Sick
I am sick of hiding all my bruises,
Living my sad life behind a closed door.
I won’t suffer because it amuses,
You seeing me hurt, lying on the floor.
In a frail attempt to relieve the pains,
I can no longer pretend to be tough.
My wrists bleed as I try escaping chains.
The shackles never could slice deep enough.
I have tried everything to get out.
But maybe it is you who needs to leave.
I do not know how it all came about,
But now I’m free, with your blood on my sleeve.
Everything you have ever done wrong,
Builds up. Now you’re headed where you belong.
