10.
I am a princess, all girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren't pretty or smart or young. They're still princesses, all of us." -Frances Hodgeson Burnett, A Little Princess
or
1.
Live in the present, remember the past and fear not the future, for it doesn't exist and never shall. There is only now." _Christopher Paolini, Eldest

The say goes
That when arrested
You are innocent until proven guilty of the crime they believe you chose
But they have tested
You

Innocent until proven guilty
That’s what they say
But they just want you to pay
For a crime
Even one you didn’t commit
They just want you to do time

Suspicion of drug possession
Suspicion of drunk driving
Anything to commit you to incarceration
Maybe for thriving
At what you do
Cashing a check
You never knew
Was a fraud
They’ll lock you up for all you do
Possibly even buying cod
And it’s always something new

Innocent until proven guilty
That’s what they say
But they just want you to pay
For a crime
Even one you didn’t commit
They just want you to do time

So you hire a lawyer
And fight it all you can
So you’re sure
They won’t ban
You from the life
You should have
But then comes the gavel, acting as a knife
And they convict you
Now you’re serving 20 to life
For something you didn’t do
And have no evidence to prove
So you’re life’s over
And your family weeps
Over the lost citizen
And the heaps
Of bills they can’t pay
So when the cops say
Innocent until proven guilty
It’s a lie
Because they can’t get by
On saying the truth

Guilty until proven innocent

Or

Guilty until you die.

I'd been watching a lot of soap operas that convict people when I wrote this. It's been done in real life though, too.
