Rain...
Hey there little brother! You’re almost here!
You’ll find that the world is full of great cheer.
There’s dancing and singing, laughter and tears,
But most of all, there is love that lasts for many years.
Eventually you will find that there is fear and sorrow
Many will give up and fall, but you must not follow.
There is something I have learned, and I wish to pass it on;
The more sorrow you overcome, the happier you’ll be in the long run.
“Why?” you may ask, and that is a good question.
But the answer you see is quite an explanation.
First let’s just say that people who know pain have much empathy.
They know how you feel and therefore want you to be happy.
When things for you can’t possibly get any harder,
Then you know that they can become infinitely better.
The more you come to understand pain,
The more you can come to appreciate life’s rain.
The world without rain would be quite a scene.
It would be brown and sandy instead of bright green.
So little brother, remember this and you’ll be fine,
‘Cause without the rain, you’d have a real reason to whine.
