The Mind
I get my kicks from the ghost of a memory today
just as I did yesterday
and just as I will tomorrow.
I can get through everyday pretending that I don’t need you
but my mind knows better than that. They say that the mind is a powerful thing.
You can trick yourself into feeling sick and being scared,
but the mind isn’t even powerful enough to trick yourself into thinking
that you don’t love someone.
So here's one for moving on,
and two for knowing I never will.
