Kitchen Structures; Or Ode to Precariousness
On the bottom was the black coffee maker,
Dried coffee tears making trails
Down its sloping sides
On top of that was the boxed apple pie
The flaky baked crust looked so delicious
But dessert comes after dinner
Resting on the Saran wrap pulled tightly over the boxed pie
Was the Kleenex box
With its puffy eruption of tissues protruding
Then some wise-Aleck stacked a plate with two cold potatoes
From last night’s dinner
On the Kleenex box
I’m just trying to say that it was precarious.
