Cold April
A cold April just isn't right
but it leads to many thoughts
such as why the sunshine daffodils
stay awake when covered in frost
Or how as we walk through the flurries
we can just pass on by
even at the sight of the wings
of a forlorn dead butterfly
And why the sun continues to shine
through the glassy frozen air
although when we see it
none of us seem to care
Perhaps the biggest question of all
is how we get through our lives
when we don't notice nature's strength
placed right in front of our eyes
