Life
Feeling the wind whip across my face,
Wondering
What it would be like later
When
I'm out on my own
So far from home,
Doing what I have to do
To make it.
The frustration makes me
Grit my teeth.
How foolish to think I can
Stand on my own two feet.
The very next breath
I breathe into my lungs
Courses through my whole body,
Reminding me I am strong,
And though it may be hard,
I'll find my own way,
Because life is a war you have to fight
One battle each day.
Each morning you wake up
Is another victory,
And as I wake up in the morning,
I know I'm ready.
