A Breezy Wind
My day was heavy of work
My hands were calloused and bruised
My feet were heavy and sore
But my mind was on other things
as I sat in the cooling shade of a thick and mighty oak
The air was solid and heavy
making the evening air tough to breathe
Perspiration trickled down my weary face
But my mind was on other things
as I sat in the cooling shade of a thick and mighty oak
And here I thought of you
I thought of when we ran
across the prairie field
The black-eyed susans sang a sunny song
Their voices soft and low
And we fell weary to the ground
The day was just like this
And then a breezy wind blew and you said
Remember me by this
So here I am
I'm tired and a breezy wind just blew
So now I think of you
