Wonderland
The cold air swirls around
So tangible and real.
A white blanket on the ground,
Fresh, clean, and new
The bare trees sway and lean
Under a cloak of white.
And though the birds don’t sing,
Joy rides on the wings of the wind.
Surprising what the white can do
It transforms our world.
It’s quiet like death yet refreshing and new
The whole place has changed before us.
Light so very white
Reflects off the covered ground
Illuminating and bright
And silver like a moon.
And in the dark,
When the stars shine down.
They cast a glow as they hark
The arrival of a winter wonderland
