Hallway Hiroshima
Stepping through a minefield,
Looks bursting with every bit of pressure
Words plume into the air, suffocating.
People swarm the doorways, take cover,
But only for forty nine minutes.
Clearing away the playing field,
Poison flowing from every tray and table
Stories leak under the cracks, deafening.
Psychological warfare takes shape in fries,
But only for thirty one minutes
Returning to the battlefield,
Truces breaking with every stolen stare
Names fall down to the floor, shattering.
Metal shields open, provide shelter,
But only for twenty three seconds.
