Near Death Experiences
He was thinking about near death experiences
Like the kind with out-of-body sensations and hot white lights
On the hospital bed with the family gathered around
But he was really watching from above
He was imagining calming conditions
A cool breeze on his cheeks
His grandfather was there—told him to go back
But he was reluctant
He wondered what would be down that dark tunnel
That situated itself above his head
But he wafted his way down back to the white sheets
It wasn’t his time
He was thinking about waking up and being grounded
Being heavy and stuck beneath gravity—no escape
So he left the room
And made his way
