Letting Go
Once I can breathe,
And the trembling stops,
Once the faded pictures
And the scars aren’t enough
That's when I flood.
The pain streaks down
My life gets the blade
My heart gets a frown
I say I’m sorry
For breaking your heart
I did come back,
But you tore me apart
You treat me like nothing
But you want me to stay
I choose to give up
Not run away
Now as end takes its toll
I utter my goodbyes
I write one last note
Before tears fill my eyes.
