Slow-motion Spinning
I take one step and pull in my arms
I wind myself like a ball of yarn
It’s that moment where my heel lifts up
It’s going to be a while before I stop
My head drops, then my eyes meet the sky
My hair leaves my shoulders, and the ringlet curls fly
The sole of my shoe spins rocks into the ground
My foot kicks as I wheel around
My hands fly straight out in a line
I pull back my fingers and let my palms see sunshine
I bend my arms and grab my hair
I stick out my tongue and taste the air
This is, no doubt, the best waste of time
I’m slow-motion spinning because it’s my time to shine
