I never meant to make you feel that way
I never wanted to push you away
I never wanted you to lose someone you love
I never wanted to kill your white dove
I meant good with every word I spoke
I didn’t want your friendship to go up in smoke
Sometimes, I get caught in the moment,
And I say things I should never have spoken
I want you to feel envy every time our eyes meet
But I never meant to hurt you like you meant nothing to me.
