Darkness and Light

Darkness and light fight in my heart.
Logic and faith battle in my mind.
Hope and fear compete for my emotions.
My face hits the floor.
Love and bitterness rage on.
For a split second it all stops, then it comes rushing back more powerful than before.
Memories sear my thoughts.
The suppressed sobs of months past rack my body.
Words said slice me into thousands of shattered pieces.
Everything they said I was,
every action they thought I did,
falls from my face to a pool on the ground.
