The Missing Food
Lily was just a first grade student enjoying school/
She thought everything was great and nothing wasn't cool/
So there she is sitting in class without a care in the world/
If she could, she would've gotten up and twirled//
Lily is a very outgoing and happy little girl/
Her hair is long and blonde with just one big curl/
Even though she was only six, she never forgot a thing/
But this was all about to change and it wasn't even spring//
It was time to go to lunch on this great day; so she thought/
If she knew this was going to happen she would have bought/
"This is not good," she screamed. "My lunch has disappeared!"/
"Am I not going to be able to eat?" she feared.//
She started searching the room, with help from her teacher/
It wasn't here, it wasn't there, maybe it was under a bleacher/
Her mom definitely packed it this morning/
She knows this for a fact because it wasn't pouring//
Lily's lunch box was nowhere in the classroom/
Did the janiotr sweep it up with his broom?/
"Wait," Lily paused. "There is one more place I didn't look."/
"I think it's in my backpack squished against a book!"//
"Oh my gosh," she exclaimed. "I finally found it."/
She was looking all around and it only took a bit/
Lily is now walking to go eat her food/
As she walks, Lily hopes nobody will be rude//
Lily now goes and sits down with her best friends/
She's hoping that lunch will not come to an end/
Lily was having so much fun reading Dr. Seuss/
She didn't even realize her mom forgot to pack juice//
