I used to hate myself
I used to hate myself,
And I blame you.
You feed on people's insecurities,
You feed off their fear.
You destroy people's lives,
But I am untouchable now.
You used to breathe down my neck,
Whisper sweet nothings.
They hurt me more,
For I knew what you really thought.
You had told me often enough,
But I am untouchable now.
I used to trust you,
And you showed me that trust, is nothing more than a child's dream.
Tears were my only companions for so long,
I wanted to be like them, free, flowing,
But I am untouchable now.
You slowly lost your power over me,
For I had found true people who cared.
Family, friends, loved ones.
You taught me to be cautios,
I taught myself to love,
And I am untouchable now.
