Dear Night,
What do you hide in your dark shadows?
Trees, cats, the cold wind
Or is it more sinister
Clawed beasts, ghouls, or ghosts.
I do not fear you
Dear Night
I fear what you hold,
And the possibility
Of Shadows.
Take pity on the humans you enfold
As the dark hides the frights from us
Hide us from the frights
Love,
A Day Child

The author's comments:
I had to write a letter poem for my creative writing class and I decided to do it about the night and the fear of what it holds, because it's not the dark we're afraid of. It's what's in the dark that scares us.
