“Expressing Myself”
In my writing-
Powerful, confident, imaginative
I can go anywhere and become anything
I’m getting my thoughts out clearly
A famous author inspiring millions

In my speaking-
Restrained, weak, insignificant
I appear unfriendly and dull
I stutter making sure to get my thoughts out clearly

A bumbling idiot

The author's comments:
I did this piece as an assignment for English class. It was a compare/contrast poem and I decided to compare speaking to writing. Two means of expression but I wanted to question which was more effective.

Exactly! That's why I like to write so much. I get to talk anyway I want and create pictures that are always trapped in my mind. I can use big words and not get scolded by my ''friends'' about it. I believe my point will never get across unitl people see my writing.

yesssssssssssssss i can totally sympathize with the topic of this poem. When you write, you get to think about what you put down. Speaking puts you on the spot, and sometimes you do sound like "a bumbling id.iot." And I write some things that I would never dare to say out loud...it's like acting, a kind of role-play. "I am the author, welcome to my universe...mwahahaha!" yeah...
