The Hand That Feeds

They say,
"Don't bite the hand that feeds you"
That hand once healthy
now reduced to gnarled stub.
But I guess it doesn't matter.
It only matters when it's too late.
By then there is nothing left
A world consumed by garbage.
And we will weep for ourselves
Pretending to be ignorant of the cause.
And we will die
Leaving this life just as unconcious as we entered it.
