Repetitive Days
She patiently waits upon the porch rail.
When the door creaks open slightly,
her ears prick up.
She squeezes through the crack.
Rubs against my leg
Gazes up for my assistance.
I open the can of food,
to hear a soft meow.
Strolls along with a full stomach,
like a sack of potatoes.
Searches for the perfect spot.
Finds a heap of laundry in a basket.
Lies comfortably down,
like a newborn baby.
Her bright green eyes closed,
and calmly falls asleep.
