Through the Glass
One window looking out-
none looking in.
Seasons change and seasons go
as I stay locked inside myself;
Children pass quickly,
fulfilling the expectations of life.
I watch from above,
only nature notices me.
My heart slowly aging into a jealous web of thorny vines,
yet my body is as youthful as it ever was.
Maybe one day I will step over the caution line,
and walk over the path around me.
But for now I am content peering through my little rectangle window.
