Lost Friendship
I miss the person you used to be,
I miss the laughter from those old days,
When I could tell you any and every secret I had.
I thought you were my best friend,
I even considered you my sister.
I couldn’t imagine my life without you,
But now I can’t imagine my life with the new you,
We promised to be friends forever,
Was that a promise we couldn’t keep,
Or did forever end way too soon?
I don’t regret becoming friends with you,
Those years were the best I ever had,
They’re even worth all these tears.
No, I can't say that I miss you;
But I really miss the person you used to be.
