Moment

The moment came, then, fleeting, flew
Across the beams and plastered walls
Its echo, sounding silent, true,
Bouncing down the dreary halls.

Across the beams and plastered walls
My moment fled, elusive ghost
Bouncing down the dreary halls
Thrall to time’s o’er-reaching boast.

One moment fled, elusive ghost
Dissolving to nonentity
Thrall to time’s o’er-reaching boast
Yet, in as much, completely free.

Dissolving to nonentity
Its sum remaining yet unknown
Yet, in as much, completely free
With consequence most clearly shown.

Its sum will still remain unknown
It dances, vague in mottled light
With consequence most clearly shown-
Obscurity, its greatest blight.

It dances, vague in mottled light
Its echo, ringing silent, true:
Obscurity its greatest blight,
The moment came, then, fleeting, flew.

"This will certify that the above work is completely original."
