Hush, hush, don't cry.
Dream of sweet, sweet lullabies,
rocking away
all the cares that you carry.

Don't be afraid
to take my shoulder to cry;
I will not mind
if you cry there all day long.

Your pain pouring,
flowing out of you on me,
but I don't mind
as long as your burden lightens.

Your whimpers cut,
stab my chest as you sob hard,
so hard you hurt,
as if you could afford pain.

But you are strong,
stronger than I'll ever be.
You amaze me,
yet I see you are still weak.

So let me love
every burden and weight you have;
they create you,
beautiful creature I love.

Hush, hush, don't cry.
Dream of sweet, sweet lullabies,

all the cares that you carry.

I was having a horrible day at school. None of my friends seemed to care about my problems, and I wrote to imagine what I wish someone would have said to me during the day.

Thanks for the comments. This is one of my least favorites, and I totally agree that it's wordy. I'm glad someone finally said something about it.

it was just a little wordy perhaps. the form makes it look really pretty though! and im sure anybody would love to have you as a friend and for you to say this to them and i know if i saw my friends crying id say something like this. just you made it sound so much more beautiful and soft. it has a soft touch to it, you know? : )

this was endearing. it could be a song or like a secret lullaby you tell to someone who was having a bad day like you were.

this poem was cute. i liked it a lot

Aw! I totally see why you would love to have someone say that to you. I am deeply moved, which kinda shows how sad I am, but whatever. The only criticism I have is on the flow, I thought it could have flowed better, but other than that, I loved it!
