November Days
A smoke-filled Camry
On a clear, starry night
Right before midnight
Death Metal blares
He babbles about business and life, using words he doesn’t completely understand
The car is flooded with empty beverage containers and various other artifacts
Lighted signs and closed stores pass by
Other cars surround us
I reply to his rambling with a kiss
Then I point to a Starbucks for us to stop at
I want to go back to those November days
When we could be together without fear of punishment, and I was happy.
