i should have known I let you down
you were a mess
and I was never around
i lost the essence of time
i forgot you were hurting
and i was too blind
i didn't realize what you needed me to do
or maybe i just wasn't prepared to give myself to you
i guess i was not as good as you thought
& i guess you don't see what you have until you notice what you got
but I'll leave you my heart
cause that was meant for you to keep
i apologize for bittersweet love
for leaving it bent
forever to bleed.
