Staring at the field
With all the juicy grass
But here I stand alone
As I walk on broken glass

No one seems to care
I'm scared and all alone
This thing is just not fair
This could not be a home

Here I stand alone
As I'm tortured by the flies
I wish that I had known
About the Field of Broken Lives

I stand upon the mud
As I dream of somewhere else
I'm an old broken dud
That no one seems to want to help

Here I stand alone
No love, No food, No drink,
I'm an old unwanted horse
On the Field of Broken Dreams

My owner once was nice
Happy and full of glee
But that accident paid the price
When I fell upon my knees

Now he doesn't care
He left me all alone
No one seems to care
I wish I had a home

Now here am I still standing
Staring at the grass
But here I stand alone
As I walk on broken glass

This is a really great sad and beautiful poem too! "But that accident paid the price
When I fell upon my knees" gave me goose bumps. I love it! Horses and writing are two of my favorite things as well.
