Fearful
You look into the eyes of the killer,
Fearful
And see madness, insanity
He laughs manically, and cocks the handgun
You fall onto your knees, begging the man
To spare your life
And he laughs again
Maybe even crazier than last time
If that’s possible
And he pulls the trigger
You’re in an abandoned house on the edge of town
Your two best friends
Stand by your side
They look worried and
Fearful
You’ve heard the house is haunted
But rumors can’t stop curious boys
You just had to prove your bravery
By being idiotic and stupid
You just had to prove you weren’t a chicken
After all, they triple dog dared you
To venture into the creepy, scary,
Old manor house
That’s a hundred years old
And you walk through the front doors
And the ghost says
“Oh good, fresh meat!”
And you die of fright
Eyes wide and staring
Mouth open for the scream
that never came
Hair like you’ve been struck by lightening
Your heart stopped beating
The moment the ghost spoke
And your breath
Caught in your throat
This is when your body freezes up
When your heart stops
And you can’t breathe
This is what it means
To be truly
Fearful
