This lady in the airplane –
I think she wanted me dead
her eyes were blue bullets
piercing my soul
her expression whispered
“I hate you”
even though we never met
she pushed her seat back
to spill my food and drink
she tripped me on my way to the restroom
and flicked me on my way back
she complained to the stewardess
but the stewardess didn't care
what I did wasn't bad

What I did was right
human nature
the plane was cold
everyone was cold
except that lady –
she was ice

I don't see how I offended her
I don't see why she should be mad
she should have smiled at my kindness
out of all the selfish things I could have done
I got up and dug out my extra sweater
and gave a Muslim mother the airplane blanket

The author's comments:
The mother and her sons were completely harmless, and I can't believe that the lady in the seat in front of me was that rude.
