The Moment
It's almost painful.
Waiting for that moment
when the world is somehow
awake and asleep, at the same time.
When everything is alive with you.
Your heart quakes,
trembles.
Your eyes flutter closed,
as you listen to the pulse of the earth.
Almost waiting for it to swallow you.
Do you feel it now?
That moment when you realize
that the world enfolds upon itself.
The plants are plants
and nothing more.
And everything more.
The stars are stars, but don't know it.
You are alive and
not alive,
all in one moment.
And that moment is what you've been waiting for.
You feel yourself for the first time.
You feel the blood and bones
and soul of yourself.
And it's beautiful.
Suddenly the world seems
smaller and bigger
at the same time.
Your heart beats for more than yourself.
And for once
that's okay with you.
