Thundercloud

Today, it’s cloudy and gloomy
But who cares?
Everyday seems like that to you.
Your shiny being is all gone
And now you are
Lifeless.
She’s loved rain, you think
She’d do anything to come back
And see it.
But they all said
With sobs and tears
She’s gone, move on.
You didn’t.

But today it really is a cloudy day
For once, the sun
Won’t dapple the trees
The green lush
The flowers, the skies
You once found so pretty.

You run outside, with hope.
You think it will rain
And you see a thundercloud ahead.
She’s coming.

You smile for the first time in months.
The nightmare will be gone.
The cloud comes closer
And closer.
You think it’ll pour out
The life of the one you love.

You fare your arms out.
Someone might see you,
Think you’re insane
To confront this thundercloud
But this is you welcome.

And wait you do for how long
You don’t know.
Then you feel a drop
Sinking into your skin.
And another one.
Slowly drops fall
Down your face
Into your eyes
Sticks to your hair
And falls to the ground with a slight thud.

You smile but then it stops.
You look up, and remember.
“Yet another beautiful day with slight chances of a drizzle.”
You see the luminous glimpse
Revealing behind the clouds.
The cloud drifts
Away
And away.

Your nightmare is over,
Yet she hasn’t come.
You aren’t smiling
But you aren’t frowning.
Your heart feels fresh
But you cannot see
Even a trace of a footprint on muddy ground
Except yours.

You look at the flowers
The skies, the lush,
The sun.
You find them very pretty.
And you do what everyone did at her funeral
Except you.
You do what your family did when they heard.

And you realize
You were the thundercloud.
Pouring out life,
Who had stored up all the H2O,
And now
Is raining.

Wow.. At first I was a bit confused but the last stanza helped put it all together. This is really good and amazing. Sad, truthful- I like it. I think i will mark it as a favorite :) Could you read my poem "Bounded Ribbon" please? I'm not sure on how understandable and accurate it is and i'd like to know what you think..?
